Monday 23rd January - Worcester Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their scheduled matches across all three divisions, including new team Full Kit Yankers who played their first match in Division One, sharing the spoils with Daddy Ben in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Premier Division leaders Phoenix may have already sealed the title, but their second defeat of the campaign will have hurt as Clash of Dudes ran out 7-5 winners of an end to end thriller as they look to confirm the Runners-Up spot.  Chateuneuf Du-Pape remain in third after they shared a point apiece with Pickle Pinchers in an end to end 3-3 draw.  Woodgreen moved above their opponents General Sports Enthusiasts into fourth after running out eventual 3-2 winners.  Completing the action was Greyhound FC who are still trying to stay safe after they won 6-0 against Indra.

Sporting A Beergut needed a big result to top Division One, and they got one as they romped to a 13-1 victory against Unathletico Madrid, putting them three goals ahead of What Team Name who were 3-1 victors over Inter Ya Nan.  Salty Sea-Men confirmed a third placed finish as they won a seven goal thriller 4-3 against Visionary FC.

Crouch Potato confirmed themselves as Division Two champions with a game to play after they were emphatic 8-1 winners against Goals Aloud in what was a potential title decider.  Plunger and Superglue missed the chance to go level on points with second place as they were humbled 4-0 by Monner Athletic, whilst Night Shift suffered a 5-1 reverse against an impressive Malvern Massive.
