Monday 24th February - Worcester Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Monday 6 a side league once again this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night across all three divisions and some well competed matches played.

We are pleased to confirm the addition of new team Ashton FC to Division Two, they replace the outgoing 2 Goals 1 Cup who have completed their withdrawal notice.  We wish the new boys good luck going into their debut game with us on Monday 3rd March.

On the pitch, in the Premier League, Châteauneuf-du-Pape rolled over Daddy Ben with a convincing 3-0 win. The Phoenix team also showcased impressive performance, keeping a clean sheet against Pepe Pig with a 2-0 victory. Severn Strikers managed to edge out Pickle Pinchers 2-1 in a closely fought match, whereas Class On Artificial Grass secured a narrow win over Salty Sea-Men, ending the game at 2-1.

Moving on to Division 1, the most impressive performance of the night came from Purkinje Fibres, who triumphed over The Salt Men with a stunning 7-2 victory. Fuego FC also emerged victorious against FC Past It with a comfortable 2-0 win. RR FC and Woodgreen FC ended in a 1-1 deadlock, while GSE and Full Kit Yankers couldn't break the stalemate, concluding their match at 0-0.

Division 2 saw some high scoring games, with "Is Your Motherwell" defeating "Inter Ya Nan" 6-3, and "We Lose Evra Week" triumphing over "Intern Milan" with an astounding 9-2 win. "Monner Athletic" also dominated their match against "2goals1cup", winning 4-0. The most exciting match of the division was between "Monday Knights" and "Unathletico Madrid", which ended in favour of Unathletico Madrid with a final score of 7-4.
