It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Sixways Monday 6 a side league this week as ever. We were pleased to see all teams in attendance for their matches, the only exception being We Lose Evra Week who were away on holiday.
After playing out their two week withdrawal notice, Bendtner Over have withdrawn from Division Two. We have moved Jewventus down from the Premier Division as they were a recent addition and have struggled in that league, they will now play in Division Two. We are delighted to welcome new team Ball of Duty to the Premier Division and we wish these good luck going into their first fixture on Monday 4th July, they have previously won our Sunday leagues so are confident in their abilities in the top league!
Phoenix kept their impressive start to the campaign going in the Premier Division, they recorded a second straight 2-1 win, this time edging past Pickle Pinchers in a well competed game. Second placed Tics on Toure are crushing it in front of goal recently, they were relentless 13-1 winners over Jewventus this week as they scored 13 for the second week running. Rodallega Bombs leapfrogged this weeks opponents Woodgreen FC into fourth place after scraping past them by 2 goals to 1, whilst Greyhound FC moved out of the drop zone at the expense of their opposition, beating Chateuneuf Du-Pape 2-0.
Division One leaders General Sports Enthusiasts were held for the first time this season as they had to settle for a 2-2 draw with ABCDE FC who registered the first point of the campaign. Who Ate All Depays couldn't capitalise on this though as the second placed side suffered a 4-3 reverse at the hands of Inter Ya Nan who registered their first win of the season! Route One Rovers narrowed the gap on the top two as they were 5-3 winners against Hayley's Beanie Boys in another entertaining game, whilst Crouch Potatoes were 6-3 winners against over mid-table Goals Aloud.
Division Two leaders Nomers made life difficult for Bendtner Over on their final game in the league, showing no mercy in a 10-3 win. Salty Sea-Men edged past Rybrook Raiders by a 2-1 scoreline to keep themselves level on points with the leaders. Completing the action was Balt-J FC who got their first victory of the season and did so with a 4-1 thumping of Malvern Massive who slip to the foot of the table.
