It was a good evening's football overall in the Worcester Sixways Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, the only disappointment being Hayley Beanie's Boys who've now been removed from the league.
We are pleased to welcome new team Billy Timbers to the league as a replacement for the above and we wish these good luck going into their first fixture on Monday 11th July as they slot into Division One!
New boys Ball of Duty had a tough first game in the Premier Division as the former Worcester Sunday Champions were given a baptism of fire against Chateuneuf Du-Pape who romped to an 11-1 victory over the debutants! Leaders Phoenix were 5-3 victors in their game against Woodgreen FC which was a well competed game as they remain top of the pile. Tics on Toure stay on the tail of the leaders after winning another entertaining game, they eventually ran out 4-3 winners over Rodallega Bombs. Greyhound FC completed the action in the division as they made it back to back wins this week, they were 4-2 victors over Pickle Pinchers to move into third place.
Division One leaders General Sports Enthusiasts now sit a point clear as they were comfortable 3-0 winners over Crouch Potatoes, whilst Who Ate Depays slipped to third position having drew 3-3 with Goals Aloud, allowing Route One Rovers to jump into second place with a 4-3 victory over Inter Ya Nan.
Division Two leaders Nomers stay ahead on goal difference after a 5-0 win this week, whilst second placed Salty Sea-Men stay level on points as they were 6-2 winners over Plunger & Superglue, making next week's meeting between the two a mouth watering prospect. Third placed Rybrook Raiders are three points behind the top two places, but a 3-2 win over Balt-J FC will allow them to potentially move to within a point of the promotion places next week if one of the teams above drops points. Jewventus recovered from defeat last week and were 4-2 winners over Malvern Massive to stay mid-table.
We wish all teams good luck going into game week 6 with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football and thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment.
