It was a good evening's football in the Worcester Sixways Monday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some well competed matches played throughout the night, the only exception was a late cancellation from Greyhound FC who return to action on Monday 13th March!
Chateuneuf Du Pape remain top and unbeaten after game week 5, although they had to settle for a 2-2 draw this week against third placed Sporting a Beergut. Phoenix moved into second place following a hard earned 5-2 win against What Team Name, whilst completing the action for the division was a first point for General Sports Enthusiasts who stay bottom but claimed a 2-2 draw off Clash of Dudes to get them off the mark.
Pickle Pinchers perfect start to Division One extended into game week 5 as they swept aside Unathletico Madrid by 6 goals without reply. Class on Artificial Grass recovered from their first defeat last week and went back into second place after coming out on top of a nine goal thriller against Salty Sea Men 5-4, the latter dropping to third as a result. Texas Oldham got their third win on the spin and now sit in fourth place as they were 6-3 winners against Crouch Potato in another open encounter, whilst the action was completed in the division by Inter Ya Nan who got their first points on the board, beating Visionary FC 2-1.
Division Two leaders Daddy Ben are another team with a 100% record after week 5, they put in a professional performance against Full Kit Yankers to be rewarded with a 4-0 win. Plunger and Superglue stay second but were pushed all the way by Indra, eventually claiming a 3-2 win. A 4-0 win for Monner Athletic pushes them into third place as they went above Chunk and the Seven Dwarves who they beat. Night Shift and Malvern Massive couldn't take the initiative in a six goal game and both had to settle for a point apiece in a game that finished 3 apiece.
