It was another excellent evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week on a scorching evening, with all 32 teams in attendance across the four divisions!
In the battle of the top two before kick off, leaders El Nino and Sporting a Beergut shared a point a piece in a 2-2 draw, a result which saw the latter drop to third place as Priestlane leapfrogged them into second with a 2-1 win over FC Marshelona. Pershite climbed to fourth place after a comfortable 5-1 win over Kebab Shop Boys, whilst new side Ayew Gueye won a seven goal thriller 4-3 against Wednesday Social.
The Charvas now have a comfortable 4 point lead at the halfway point of the season as the Division One leaders made short work of second placed Expecting Toulouse, beating them 3-1 as they look to cement promotion to the top division. Third placed Coral FC also lost ground on the leaders as they suffered a surprise 2-0 reverse against Probably Hungover. Elsewhere it was 4-2 wins for both Paris Ganjaman and Bishy FC who beat Get Your Klopp Out and Lads on Toure respectively.
Division Two leaders Small Pond FC dropped a point for the first time this campaign, as they and Dixie Normous drew 2-2 in another top two battle! Dixie drop to third as 2 Girls 1 Schlupp move above them on goal difference after a comfortable 5-1 win against Make 6 a Side Great Again. Stud FC occupy fifth spot after a well earned 4-0 victory against Cheeky Naldos, whilst completing the divisions action was Pique Blinders who made it back to back wins with a 5-2 win over Largentina!
Chicken Ball FC are enjoying a tasty season in Division Three as they were more sweet than sour this week, thrashing MEC Cartel 9-1 to leave a sour taste in the mouth's of their opponents. Second placed Vlads Lads are doing their best to keep the pressure on the leaders though, they were 7-1 winners over Gotta Die for 3 Pints as the top two pull away from the rest of the division. Third placed Murder on Zidane's Floor lost ground on the teams above them, losing 7-4 to Unathletico, whilst Sixual Deviants and I Predict a Diet shared a point each in a 4-4 draw.
We look forward to seeing everyone in attendance for game week 8 with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
