Wednesday 18th January - Worcester Round-Up

It was another superb evening's action in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night as scheduled across all three divisions and some entertaining football played.

The top of the Premier Division remains unchanged as leaders Small Pond made it 7 wins on the bounce this week, beating Dales Sixes by 6 goals to 2, whilst Chicken Ball keep the pressure up after they romped to an 8-1 victory against strugglers Murder on Zidane's Floor.  Coral FC remain third and three points off the summit, they played a much closer game and ran out 2-1 winners against fourth placed Sporting a Beergut.  Elsewhere Wednesday Social climbed out of the bottom two at the expense of Up The Alma after beating them 4-2.

The top two in Division One look to be pulling away as leaders Claines FC were the first team to beat Real Perrys since they joined the league, the top side edging out their opponents by a single goal as they strengthen their grip on the promotion places, as do second placed Expecting Toulouse after a 3-1 victory against Paris Ganja Man, putting the gap between second and third to to four points after Lads on Toure slipped to a 7-4 reverse against New Inn FC.  ITL United got an impressive result on their second game in the league, running out 4-3 victors over Werder Beermen.

Division Two leaders Brap show no sign of letting up as their seventh straight win of the campaign was a comfortable 5-0 victory over West Ham Sandwich, but second placed Gotta Die For 3 Pints are on their tails, keeping themselves two points off the pace with an 8-1 thrashing of Jew-ventus.  Sporting Bad Haircuts moved four points clear of their opponents after they ran out 3-1 victors against Ruud Van Nipplejoy.
