It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league at Sixways this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches across all three divisions as usual.
El Nino bounced back from defeat last week in fine style, as they thrashed third placed Brap FC by a 5-2 scoreline, extending their lead over the third placed team to four points, whilst second placed Priestlane also lost the ground made up last week as they drew 3-3 with Ballas Atletico. Elsewhere The Rifes moved up to fourth place with their 4-1 win over Expected Toulouse, whilst Wednesday Social and Droitwich Sparta shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
The Division One table remains completely unchanged as Sporting A Beergut and FC Marshelona extended their leads in the top two places. Top of the table Sporting recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Barcaloners, whilst second placed FC Marshelona thrashed Shaggers by a 5-1 scoreline, the gap between second and third is now four points as the top two sides look likely to be playing in the Premier Division next season.
Cheese Gromit lead the way in Division Two and deservedly so, as they thrashed CF Bundalengerz out of sight by a 12-1 margin, whilst Warriors Staff drop to second place after their 2-0 reverse at the hands of second from bottom 2 Girls 1 Schlupp in a surprise result. Bottom of the table Largentina edged an 11 goal thriller against Mad For It in a game which Largentina ran out 6-5 winners! Bishy FC's 3-1 win over Cheeky Naldos completed the action in an extremely tight Division Two.
We wish all teams good luck going into week 10 of the campaign with Worcester's premier providers of small sided football!
