Wednesday 30th March - Worcester Sixways Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Worcester Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance, as the brand new fourth division got underway which was fantastic to see!

The top of the Premier Division got a bit closer this week as leaders Priestlane Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw by Sporting a Beergut, opening the door for El Nino to close the gap and they duly delivered, running out 3-1 winners against Brap FC to reduce the gap on the leaders to a point.  Pershite edged past The Charvas by a single goal to keep themselves in fifth, whilst Marshelona recovered from a hefty defeat last week to run out 3-0 winners against The Rifes.

Division One looks incredibly tight at the summit as three teams are now tied on 15 points.  Wednesday Social's recent stuttering form sees them drop to second for the first time this season, they made it three without a win as they were beaten 3-1 by mid-table Bishy FC, and expecting Toulouse, winning by the same scoreline against Lads on Toure, took full advantage of the situation.  Cheese Gromit complete the trio of teams after they were comfortable 4-0 winners over Make 6 a side Great Again.  Get Your Klopp Out moved into fourth position with a 5-1 hammering of bottom team We Never Win.

Division Two leaders Coral FC made a big step towards their title aspirations, as they ran out 2-1 winners over Paris Ganja Man who sit in second, moving four points clear at the summit.  2 Girls 1 Schlupp brought themselves right back into the promotion chase, the third placed team are now level with second as they won 3-1 against Largentina.  Whilst a 3-0 win for Warriors Staff over Gotta Die for 3 Pints, and a 2-1 win for Cheeky Naldos against Sixual Deviants sees them sit fourth and fifth respectively.

The brand new Division Three got off the ground this week with two competitive games taking place in the divisions infancy.  Baines on Toast won an entertaining game against Small Pond FC by a 3-2 score line, whilst Vlads Lads were 6-3 winners over a young Chicken Ball FC side.

We are delighted to welcome an additional team to the new division this week, as Dixie Normous join the action on Wednesday 6th April!  We wish these good luck in their first fixture as they meet Chicken Ball.
