Our well established Monday night 6 a side league showed yet again why it's the best place to play your 6 a side football last night with another brilliant set of games, perfectly managed by Brian and his team of professional referees. The venue at Skyliner has been home to Leisure Leagues for a long time and we are proud of the set up we are able to provide to our teams week in week out. This weeks matches gave us some great action as always with the only negative aspect being the permanent ban issued to one player for verbally abusing an official. The player has been fined and banned previously but sadly hasn't learnt his lesson so will no longer be part of our leagues. Always a shame but we always support our refs and will not put up with them being abused. The rest of the team accept the punishment and will play on without the individual but everyone can take this as a reminder that if you don't respect our officials, you simply will not play in our leagues.
Here is an overview of last nights results.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Titus Bramble secured a tidy 5 - 2 win over Double Pogba thanks to a hat-trick from Ryan Golding while Anne Spank remained in 3rd following a 5 - 1 win against Innocent Till Proven Gylfi. At the top of the table there was a massive win for Chicken Tikka Mo Salah who replaced AC in 1st place with a 3 - 1 win over them, it's still mighty tight though in this very competitive division.
DIVISION ONE
Candyshop remain top of Division One following their 4 - 3 win over Struijk My Koch while Mean Machine remained in touch at the top with a 4 - 2 win over Maradonna Kebab. Jewventus' match with SYM ended in a brilliant 3 - 3 draw to give both sides a point. The top 2 look a fair way ahead of the rest at the moment but there is a way to go in the season still and anything can happen over the coming weeks.
DIVISION TWO
We had an unexpected defeat for Unathletico last night in Division Two, they went down 3 - 2 against Harry's Helmuts as this league again proves how competitive it is. Luke Rookyard bagged a hat-trick for Hello You Kante to secure their 4 - 3 win over Son of a Pitches and there was a dramatic 4 - 4 draw in the match up between Charlesberg and Tuddenham Tornados
Massive thanks to Brian, Rian, Paul and Kev for managing match night for us as always on a Monday. Places are very sought after in this league and it's easy to see why. Great teams playing brilliant matches with top notch referees. Great work everyone, see you next week.
