Another brilliant night of 6 a side unfolded last night in our excellent and very popular Monday Night league in Bury St Edmunds.
The Premier league is taking shape with Netflix sitting pretty at the top having won all of their opening 4 games. It wasn't easy this week though as Innocent Till Proven Gylfi pushed them all the way in a game that ended 4 - 3 to the leaders, Harvey on target with a hattrick for his team. AC ALittleSilouetteoOfMilan lost some ground on the Netflix, falling to their 1st defeat this season at the hands of last terms champions Candyshop who have finally found some form after an indifferent start to their title defence. Candyshop edging this on 4 - 3. In another tight game in this division, Charlesberg got their 1st win over Hello You Kante, 2 - 1 in this one to keep their noses just out of the relegation zone.
Division One leaders Alan Brazil's Wet Dream picked up a points win this week with Ninja Skrtel away and Put Matip in had to work hard to stay in touch at the top with a tight 2 - 1 win over new side 2 Girls 1 Schlupp who have taken over from Soccer Club who had to withdraw from the league. Son of a Pitches had a good win this week over Mean Machine, James Goodsman amoung the scores as his team came away 5 - 2 winners, taking them to 3rd in the table.
Aside from MoLeicester City's great 8 - 2 win over Maradonna Kebab, Division Two also produced closely fought games this week as Harry's Helmuts and Struijk My Koch shared the spoils in a 1 - 1 draw while For the Badge managed a 1 - 0 win over Double Pogba & Coke. All this leaves MoLeicester City 2 clear at the top, Ryan Perry netting a hattrick in what was the highest win margin of the night while For the Badge's win keeps them in the promotion places too.
So a pretty amazing night of games really, massive thanks to all the captains for organising their players and to our officials for running the night. It's always great to see lots of close games in a league and it feels like this season is producing that most weeks.
Well played everyone, we have a week off next week for the Bank Holiday so will see you all back for more of the same on Monday 25th April. Have a great Easter guys.
