In an exciting week 9 of the Paignton Wednesday 6-a-side Football League, Bastow’s Big Bazooka FC spearheaded their way to victory, with their star player, Owen Taylor, scoring an impressive four goals and securing his spot as this week's top scorer in the Premier League division.
PREMIER LEAGUE
The Premier League division was a spectacle of high-adrenaline and intense competition, with a total of 35 goals scored across the games. The match between Men Behaving Chadli and Bastow’s Big Bazooka FC was a high-stakes duel, which ended with a 6-4 triumph for the Bazooka boys, largely thanks to Taylor's exceptional performance.
In other matches, an evenly contested battle between Haven’t Jota Clue and Murder On Zidanes Floor FC kept us on the edge of our seats throughout the game, which ended in a 5-5 draw. Ctrl Alt De Ligt also managed to claw their way to a narrow 4-3 victory over Unathletico Madrid in a thrilling encounter.
But it wasn't all close-run affairs. Churston Yutes put on a ruthless display of their attacking prowess as they dismantled Net Six And Chill with an 8-2 victory, marking one of the most comprehensive wins of the season.
Yet, the star of the week was undoubtedly Owen Taylor from Bastow’s Big Bazooka FC. His scintillating performance not only earned him the distinction of being the top scorer of the Premier League division for the week but also the title of the most valued player.
As the league moves into its 10th week, these teams will be looking to build on their performances, with the race for the title heating up. So, with all to play for, there promises to be plenty of thrilling action in the weeks ahead.
Thank you to Jamie for running the evening and to our refs and players. Good luck next week!
