OFF AND RUNNING IN THE BRIERLEY HILL MONDAY LEAGUE

A brilliant first night of the season in the Brierley Hill Monday 6aside League with all teams in attendance as expected. We also welcomed new team 'Pass It To The Left' who had a strong showing against 'That Peter Crouch Team' in their first game, coming out 1-0 losers in a game that could have gone either way. We wish them all the best as the league moves forward.

The Premier Division game of the week this week goes to the closely fought game between 'Lets Get Messi' and 'Inter Mi'Bathams', a close and tight affair between two teams that know each other well now as they have played each other a lot over the last year but it was 'Lets Get Messi' who came out 4-3 winners to make a statement of intent for the season ahead. Newly promoted 'Exeter Gently' is next up for them and they will fancy themselves to make it two wins out of two to start the season, 'Exeter Gently' may have the same idea after they are sitting top after week one.

The game of the night in Division One was the game between 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' and 'Crep City FC'. Both teams are looking to be promotion contenders this year and as the scoreline suggests it could have gone either way but it was 'Crep City FC' who came away with the 4-3 win and the bragging rights this time. It will be interesting to see how the game goes when the two teams meet again and how important it will be on the overall standings in the league.

Following a 4-0 hammering of their opponents and them currently sitting top of Division One 'West Midlands United FC' are our team of the week. The team have come along way since they first started in the league over a year ago and it will be interesting to see if they can continue this form going into next week against 'Who Ate All Depays'.

On another note, half of the man of the matches tonight were not on the system and therefore did not claim there man of the match. Please ensure that you are pushing you captains to complete your player cards online and join your team, without this you cannot claim your man of the match on the night if you get one.
