A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Brierley Hill Monday League with just one week of the season left and everyone in attendance as expected.
The game of the night in the Premier Division was between 'Pass It To The Left' and 'Lets Get Messi'. A hotly contested game with a lot riding on it saw 'Lets Get Messi' get the 4-2 win and climb to 3rd in the process. It could have gone either way but the experience of 'Lets Get Messi' told with their win and as they go into a game with the league leaders in the final week will be looking to take 3rd place. Unfortunately with this result it has been confirmed that 'Pass It To The Left' will be playing Division One football next season, after being thrown in the deep end this season they have fought valiantly but could not avoid the drop. 'Lets Get Messi are also safe with this result and one of three teams could go down going into the last week of fixtures. The title race has also gone down to the wire with one point separating the top two, good luck all involved in their last games of the season.
Game of the night in Division One was between 'West Midlands United F.C.' and 'Crep City FC'. In another wonderful night of games in Division One this 4-2 win for 'Crep City FC' was the pick of the night. After a tight affair between to teams who have been neck and neck throughout this season it was 'Crep City FC' who came out on top and means they have secured 3rd place for this season and will be looking to go one better next. The title race is also going to the wire in this Division as the two teams are separated by goal difference going into the last week, good luck both teams in there last games of the season!
Team of the week for this week is 'Baloteletubbies'. Since starting in the league they have been getting better and better and have really started to get a settled and competitive team. With a 2-0 win against 'Who Ate All Depays' there is now 1 point separating 3 teams at the bottom of Division One. They face 'Crumptons Firm' next week and if they continue there impressive form of recent weeks they could really throw a cat amongst the pigeons in the title race.
