A brilliant first night of the season in the Brierley Hill Monday 6aside League. It was however very disappointing that 'Crumptons Firm' were unable to fulfil their fixture again. The team will be contacted to understand there future commitment to the league and unsure that they will be present moving forward. It is paramount that all teams are present for each and every fixture and if not try their hardest to contact the area manager in a sufficient amount of time in order for the league to run smoothly and effectively each week.
On another note we also say goodbye to an original team that has been with us from the start of the league beginning '6 Berks And A Turk'. They have been with the league for the six seasons it has been running and we are very sad to see them go as a team that were formed as single players when the league first ran. To go from strength to strength as the seasons have gone on to nearly gaining promotion this season they have been a testament to the league in the time they have been with us. I would like to wish the team all the best moving forward and I look forward to hopefully seeing them again at the league in the future.
Moving onto other news, the Premier Division game of the week goes to the high scoring game between 'Is This The Way To Hammer Villa?' and 'Borussia Teeth'. Two new teams that are staking there claim in the Premier Division for the season ahead. It was 'Is This The Way To Hammer Villa?' that came out on top 7-5, can they following this up with a win next week. With how competitive the games were in the Premier Division it looks like we are in for a season when anyone can beat anyone and we look forward to seeing how all teams end up.
The game of the night in Division One was the game between 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' and the departing '6 Berks And A Turk'. Another high scoring game that 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' won 6-4, with man of the match Alex Sharp scoring 5 and making an early claim for the brand new golden boot award for the top goal scorer of each division, long way to go but this is a very good start. They will also be looking to follow up this result and try and go one better this season and be a Premier Division side next season.
Early Division One leaders 'Crep City FC' are our team of the week with a 4-1 win over new team 'Nitty Committee FC'. With how close this Division was last season it always best to get the points on the board early and see how you get on, a great start from a side that will be looking for promotion this season.
We currently have one space in the league with a new division starting Monday 4th May 2020! Get in contact with your area manager today in order to take part in the best league in your area.
