STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 14TH MARCH 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

Another great evening of 6-a-side football with all teams in attendance as expected.

In the Premier League, there were plenty of exciting games between all teams however the toughest encounter we saw was a victory for 'Bayern Neverlosen' over 'Redz On Stedz' in 3-2 fashion, neither team was willing to give in as they pushed each other to the final whistle. 'Bayern Neverlosen' eventually edged out their opponents for an important win to gain their first victory of the season. An overall great team effort from 'Bayern Neverlosen'. 'Redz On Stedz' put on a good show on the night also and will be disappointed not to take any points. 

In Division 1 the game of the evening saw 'Roebuck FC' beat 'Call the Cops FC' 2-0 in a game where there was not much to split either side. It was Joe Morris who scored the only 2 goals of the game though to win it for his team. 'Call the Cops FC' are unlucky to leave the game without a point having given a good representation of their footballing ability. Next up for the victors is 'This Is Plough We Do It', can they continue this winning form?

Division 2 game of the week came in a 2-2 draw between 'Beercelona' and 'Pique Blinders' in what was a great performance from both sides, also showing that the quality is spread out throughout the league. Neither team could break the deadlock by full time, however the game was a joy to behold from a neutral perspective where both teams went from end to end of the pitch. We look forward to seeing these two teams play again and seeing if there is a different result later in the season.

The team of the week is given to 'S&K' after they beat last season's champions 'Chip Butty FC' 2-1 in a very entertaining game. With this result they are looking to continue the winning streak next week against 'Schoolboy Error. Who will come out on top?
