All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.
It was a fantastic night in the Stourbridge Monday league with some hard-fought games throughout.
Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance as ‘PSGeezas’ were not present for their fixture. We have been in contact with the team and they have confirmed that they will be back this week. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixture each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each and every week, if you are having any problem please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of notice in order to allow the league to run as smoothly as possible.
The game of the week in the Premier League was the great game between top-of-the-league 'Celta Allstars' and ''Unprotected Cesc'. In a hotly contested game that saw lots of chances throughout and a game played at a very high tempo, it was 'Unprotected Cesc' who were able to come out on top 2-1 and move closer to 'Celta Allstars' at the top of the league. Can they keep it going all the way to the end of the season?
A few games stand out in Division One, but it was the game between 'Bugle FC' and 'Woodalls FC' that was the game of the night. Two very evenly matched teams when they face each other and played out another great game here but it was 'Bugle FC' who ran out winners on this occasion and showed the real class they have on offer. They are now seven points clear at the top of the league, can they get that one more win to gain promotion to the Premier League?
The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'Stourbridge Olympic' and 'Let the Game McGinn'. Two similarly able teams that served up a 5-goal thriller, but it was league leaders 'Stourbridge Olympic' who came out on top 3-2. With three points separating first and second in this league we are in for an interesting finish to the season with three games to go.
Team of the week for this week has to be Division One's 'Bayern Neverlosen'. A very impressive 5-1 win against 'West Midlands United FC' means they are up to fourth with three games to go. Can they grab one of the the promotion places before the end of the season? They are just four points away.
