STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 25TH APRIL 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side Monday league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

Another great evening of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side league with all teams in attendance as expected.

It was also great to welcome not one but two new teams as 'PSGeezas' and 'Let The Game McGinn' kicked off there time at the league. With mixed fortunes they will be looking to build on what the have found out in the first week with still plenty of time to make an impression on the league. Good luck to both teams moving forward!

In the Premier League, we had some excellent games played between talented sides. Our game of the week came between 'Inter Mi'Bathams' and 'Bayern Neverlosen' where 'Inter Mi'Bathams' came out 4-2 winners in anend to end. Sitting 4 points off leaders 'Chip Butty FC' as we push past the halfway point in the season they will be looking to chase down the top of the league and go one better than last season. It was a brace from Jake Field that secured his MVP performance and despite the quality of 'Inter Mi Bathams', 'Bayern Neverlosen' put in an excellent display with some great attacking football however unfortunately could not keep out their opposition's efforts to take the win.

Division One provided brilliant entertainment also where the game of the evening came between 'Roebuck FC' and 'Dynamo B.C' with the game ending 4-3 to 'Roebuck FC' as the teams traded blow for blow in order to achieve the victory. A sensational game in which neither team could take their eye off the ball in fear of conceding, it was an MVP performance for Kevin Burns who also scored a brace to secure the victory. 3 points off top with 6 games to go, who will be promoted from Division One this season?

In Division Two we also had a flurry of goals throughout the evening, however, the game of the evening finished 6-3 to 'West Midlands United FC' against 'We Don't Give a Flying Duck FC'. These are two teams who know each other extremely well both being veterans of the league.. The 6-3 score does not however show the quality of football played by both sides with free-flowing football being played throughout the game. With how tight this league is it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

The team of the evening is given to 'Call The Cops FC' as they bounced back with a 9-2 victory after their 4-game winless run. Their victory was led by Josh Jones with 4 goals with an outstanding individual display to ensure the team won comfortably. Hopefully, this result can revive their form for the rest of the season. They will be looking to climb the table before the end of the season to steer clear of danger and look to build on this fine form going to into the next.

The league is now off for bank holiday Monday meaning the league will resume again on Monday 9th May 2022 as the centre is closed. We would like to wish everyone involved with the league a very happy bank holiday weekend and look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks. As a side note, this is the last bank holiday before the end of August so there will now be no interuptions until then.
