STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 27TH MARCH

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football with some entertaining fixtures played throughout and all teams in attendance as expected.

There were some brilliant games in the Premier League with the game of the evening between 'Celta Allstars' and 'AFC Vexham'. A game which could have gone either way with 'AFC Vexham’ pushing the league leaders right to the death but it was ‘Celta Allstars’ who came out on top. With five games to go and everything to play for it will be interesting to see where these two teams end up come the end of the season but ‘Celta Allstars’ have a good lead in the race for the title..

Division 1 had plenty of action throughout the night, but game of the evening was given to the 2-1 victory for 'Pique Blinders' over 'This is Plough We Do It'. A fantastic game that went back and forth but 'Pique Blinders' were able to bounce back from defeat last week to get the win. With 5 games to go ‘Pique Blinders’ are now two points behind the team they beat on the night and we look forward to seeing how they can influence the season in the final games and possibly climb out of the relegation places.

Division 2 game of the week was a four-goal thriller between two teams that know each other well now 'Hickorys Allstars' and 'Cott Lane Colts' where both teams put their heart and soul into trying to get the two points. Nothing could split the two teams in a very entertaining game that finished 2-2. With five games to go ‘Cott Lane Colts’ have now dropped to second in the league, one point splits three teams, who will come out on top?

Team of the evening this week is 'West Midlands United FC' as they pick up another vital win in their bid for promotion to the Premier League and are now only out of the promotion places on goal difference. With five games to go they will be looking to go on a run to finish the season strong. Also wanted to wish a speedy recovery for Sam Tonks from ‘West Midlands United F.C.’ who broke his ankle in a challenge on the night which we never like to see, the league wishes him a speedy recovery and hope to see him again in the future.

Although the league is currently full there is always space on our waiting list and a NEW DIVISION set to start at the start of the NEW SEASON! Sign up today to take a space and be a part of the best leagues in your area!
