In the thrilling world of 6 a side football, Stourbridge Monday's week 6 matches delivered an evening of heated competition and surprise outcomes. The matches spanned across four divisions: Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3, with some of the most exciting moments of the season so far.
Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance in PSGeezas, they will not be returning due to missing 4 games in the last 2 seasons. It is vital that teams are there each week and get in contact with your area manager if you are unavailable to ensure the league runs smoothly each week.
We did also have one incident on the night that meant a player form Waggon Wandorers has been carded for unsporting behaviour. The player been fined £15 in order to learn from the issue on the night. Please ensure you are following league rules and respecting everyone to do with the league each and every week in order to avoid this happening with your team, it will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly each time.
In the Premier League, VI Inches Combined emerged as the dominant team, comfortably beating Stourbridge Olympic with an inspirational attacking display which led to an 8-0 victory. The perfromance from VI Inches was up there with one of the best this season! AFC Vexham and BBF United ended their match in a 1-1 draw where the game ebbed and flowed but ultimately a winner could not be found from either side. While Unprotected Cesc succumbed to a 6-2 defeat against Celta Allstars as they retained their top spot in the division despite pressure from AFC Vexham. Celta Allstars play Stourbridge Olympic next week which you will not want to miss!
Moving to Division 1, Growler Out FC had a standout performance against Piqué Blinders with a 5-1 victory, largely thanks to a sensational team performance as they mounted countless attacks which Pique Blinders struggled to cope with. Other notable games include a sensational win for Baz Ball FC against Bayern Neverlosen 5-4. Each side fought hammer and tongue to gain the victory with plenty of fine attacking football which would have had a neutrals heart racing! Despite Bayern Neverlosens best efforts they could not stop the winner. Inter Mi’Bathams' 3-1 win over West Midlands United F.C in a classic matchup both teams gave excellent accounts of themselves. An important victory for Inter Mi'Bathams as they gain crucial points.
In Division 2, Hwang Onasec shone in attack with a thrilling victory over Hickorys Allstars, who were left helpless due to a sensational all-round performance from all involved. LABEL FC squeezed a narrow 2-1 win against This Is Plough We Do It, LABEL FC hold onto top spot for another week. However, This Is Plough We Do It will feel they have missed an opportunity to climb up the table. Slumdog Mingolet tackled Let The Game McGinn to gain a 3-0 victory to ensure they are out of the relegation zone for another week! Big Stiff Chip Butty defeated their opponents Talbot 6 in 3-1 win which will be a huge morale booster for them continuing throughout the season!
Division 3 Gylfi As Charged made their mark by scoring some incredible goals in a 5-1 win against Athletic Dildao, Athletic Dildao gave their best in attack however were unfortunately unable to pick up form on the night. Gylfi Pleasures and Genoa Side both recorded 5-1 victories over We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC and Waggon Wonderers respectively where both sides will be pleased with their significant results. Spignif Allstars secured a 2-1 win against Still Trying FC in a clash which meant Spignif Allstars are now pushing for a promotion position!
VI Inches were team of the week as they picked up only their second win of the season in amazing fashion wiping away their opponents on the night.
