Play in the Stourbridge Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
In the exhilarating kick-off week of the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side Football League, teams across five divisions locked horns in a bid to get their seasons off to a flying start.
Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance and as it was their second non-attendance in a row 'Unprotected Cesc' have now been removed from the league as per the terms and conditions. It is paramount all teams are present for there fixtures every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each and every week, if there are any problems please contact your Area Manager at the earliest convenience.
'AFC Vexham' were also not present but gave the required 7 days notice to cancel a fixture. We look forward to having them back when they return after their break.
In the Premier League, Baz Ball FC claimed an impressive 4-2 victory against Wheres Your Man FC. The Division 1 matches were tightly contested, with the Reserve Squad V2 eking out a narrow 4-3 win over Genoa Side. Finally in Division 2 Spignif Allstars were impressive in the first game of the season as they beat Pique Blinders 4-1 to sit top after week one.
In Division 3, despite a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Scran City, Kieran Marsden of the latter team emerged as the league's most valued player. His outstanding performance encapsulated the spirit of the season's opening week. Elsewhere, Brandon of Twinkle Toes scored a hattrick in a 6-2 victory over Expected Toulouse FC, leading the division's top scorers. In the other game in this division Cott Lane Colts got off to a winning start as they ran out 2-0 winners over This is Plough We Do It.
