Play in the Stourbridge Monday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
The Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side Football League has gotten off to an electrifying start, as teams across all divisions battled it out in the opening week of the season.
Unfortunately we did have an incident on the night where a player from Peter Larsen Kaffe was sent from the field of play for abuse to the referee in there game against Boca. The player in question has been fined and banned from the league for one week. It is paramount all players stay within the rules on a weekly basis, if not then these incidents will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly each and every time.
We did also have one non-attendance as AFC Vexham were not present for there fixture. We will be in contact this week to confirm there return. It is paramount all teams are present each and every week in order for the league to run smoothly on a weekly basis, if there are any problems please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of notice.
In more positive news, in the Premier League, The Galacticos made a bold statement with an 8-3 victory over King Julians Merry Men, while Genoa Side and Celta Allstars ended in a 3-3 stalemate. Where's Your Man also were able to come out 2-1 winners in a close game between them and DY5 Bullets.
Over in Division 1, VI Inches Combined started the season with a bang, routing new team Get Up FC. The other new team in the Division Fries.Bag.Now were 2-0 winners over Royals and Big Stiff Chip Butty marked there return to Division One with a 7-3 win over BBF United. The fourth game of the night was a 2-2 draw between Scran City and Yatesy VI.
In Division 2, Past Our Prime outclassed Athletic Dildao with a 6-1 victory to put them top of the league after week one. Bayern Neverlosen cam out of week one with a 3-1 win over Baz Ball FC. The other two games were both draws as Hwang Bang and Lads On Toure and Bunting Mental and Fill Her Wycombe all took a point from the first week.
In Division 3, Unathletic Madrid succumbed to a big loss to Big Balls. Twinkle Toes started life in DIvision Three with a 4-2 win over Pique Blinders and new team Boca were 4-3 winners over Peter Larseon Kaffe. In the other Division 3 game on the night we saw a 1-1 draw between Expected Toulouse FC and Spignif Allstars.
In the final Division 4, Still Trying FC started their campaign on a high note, claiming a 5-0 victory over Team Pending. Bakers Barmy Army also started with a 3-0 win over Danny Gs Henchmen in order to sit second after week one. The other two games between Rios Fridays FC and SPAFF It FC and This is Plough We Do It and Pathetico Madrid ended in draws.
As teams regroup and strategize for the coming weeks, the excitement rises. The season has just begun, and we can't wait to see how it unfolds. Stay tuned for more action from the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side Football League.
The league is now OFF for Easter Monday this week and will return Monday 28th April 2025. We wish all players, officials and there families a wonderful Easter and see you all when we return. Please also note that the league will be OFF for two bank holidays in May also on Monday 5th May 2025 and Monday 25th May 2025 so plan accordingly.
