Play in the Stourbridge Sunday football league powered by Leisure Leagues
In an adrenaline-filled night of football, the Stourbridge Sunday League closed off its 14th and final week of the season with some distinctly impressive performances and results. With stellar performances from top scorers and winning teams, the ambitious league brought down the curtain on a memorable season.
Unfortunately, there was an incident on the night where a player from Man Titty had been issued a red card for violent conduct. This player has now been permanently banned and it has also led to the team now being removed from the league. Although this opens up a space in the league, violent conduct of any kind will never be permitted in any of our leagues. Whenever an incident like this happens it will also be dealt with swiftly and accordingly in order for the league to run to a high standard each and every week.
Secondly, we did also have one non-attendance on the night as Therapists were not present for there fixture and we will be in contact with them this week to confirm their return for Sunday. It is paramount all teams are present for their fixtures in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible each week, if there are any problems please be sure to contact your area manager in plenty of time.
In the illustrious Premier League division, the game was nothing short of excitement. Withy Regens triumphed over Graces All Stars, with a score of 4-2, while Stourbridge Olympic and Stourbridge Old Boys locked horns in a thrilling encounter that ended with a 6-4 victory for the former. Blackheath Unathletic also showcased their prowess by outscoring I Like That with a 6-2 win. In the final match, Stourbridge Zebra managed to secure a 2-0 victory against Athletic Bone. Blackheath Unathletic claimed the Premier League championship title, finishing with a grand total of 24 points and 11 wins.
The Division 1 matches were equally riveting. The Merry Men were narrowly defeated by Man Titty, with a 2-1 result, while Gangsters Allardyce managed to edge past Kewford Old Eagles with a 5-3 victory. Class On Grass also claimed a victory, defeating Pique Blinders 2-0. Habberley FC emerged as the winners of Division 1 with a resounding total of 26 points and 13 wins.
As this exciting season wraps up, we congratulate all the players and teams on their spectacular performances. The Stourbridge Sunday League has once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering an atmosphere of competition and sportsmanship, and we eagerly look forward to the next season.
