Swindon Mental Health Squad her first points of the season

Swindon Thursday Match report

It was another amazing night of six a side action in the Swindon Thursday six a side football league at Swindon Academy. As expected, every team was in attendance and followed our new Covid protocols perfectly.

Game 1 was a tight affair between two closely matched teams. There weren’t many chances and the only goal fell to Spezial FC who won the game 1-0. The win helps them move up to 3rd in the table.

In game 2 Paralympiakos got their campaign under way within a convincing 6-2 win against Wickes Champions.

In Game 3 The Plough, plagues by injuries and absences could do nothing to stop the might of The Lads as they romped to a 6-0 win. The Lads captain Ben was ecstatic with his teams performance on the night and told me to tell everyone that he is back to running the show from now on!

The penultimate game of the night saw Lean Team take on Wellensball and it was Lean Team who continue to go from strength to strength as they secured another win against a good side in Wellensball to stay second, just one point behind The Lads. Ryan stepped up with two assists and was happy with the performance on the night.

In the final game, Swindon Mental Health Squad just edged out Exeter Gently to win 1-0 and claim their first points of the season. Exeter unfortunately stay bottom.

Thanks everyone for a great night. See you next week!

Dan
