Excitement was at an all-time high last night as week 16 of the Swindon Thursday 6-a-side Football League unfolded. With only two weeks left of the season, teams are battling it out fiercely to secure their positions for the next season.
In Division 1, Bluey United demonstrated their dominance with a comprehensive victory of 7-1 over Ridgeway Rovers. However, the match of the night was between Lordas FC and Badbury Park, where the former made a grand statement with an astonishing 10-0 win. But it was the nerve-wracking clash between Noffin FC and Sons Of Pitches that stole the show. Sons Of Pitches edged out their opponents with a thrilling 4-3 victory.
In the Division 2 matches, 1980's Legends defeated DL Wanderers with a score of 6-4. Dockle FC also had a memorable night, winning 9-1 against Wiggins Fc. Unquestionably though, the highlight of the evening was Hungry Higgos' impressive 7-1 victory over Wichelstowe Wanderers FC.
Division 3 saw some tight contests as well. Haynes Beans and Brexit Bosh ended in a 2-2 draw, as did Not Dat FC and Unclarted. Cheney Boys couldn't cope with the Pique Blinders, who triumphed with a 5-3 victory.
As for the top scorers, it was Lordas FC for Division 1, Dockle FC for Division 2, and Pique Blinders for Division 3. The competition remains intense as we approach the final weeks. Teams are reminded to secure their position for next season as we anticipate an even more exciting round of matches.
