In an exciting display of talent and teamwork, the second week of the Teignmouth Tuesday 6-a-side Football league saw teams in the Premier League division battle it out on the pitch, in a bid to establish their dominance.
Among the high-performing teams, Multiple Scoregasms bested Chippy Chips 3-1, with a spectacular performance that had the spectators on their feet. A similar scoreline was witnessed in the match between Old Dogs No Tricks FC and Cheese On Bread, where Cheese On Bread showed their mettle with a 3-1 victory.
Undeniably, the highlight of the evening was the match between CORGIS and Shaboing United. Shaboing United wowed the crowd with an impressive 8-1 victory, demonstrating their superior skills and strategy. This game also gave us the top scorer for the Premier League division: Barnaby Edgar, who netted an impressive five goals for Shaboing United. His outstanding performance has certainly set a new benchmark for the rest of the season.
In another remarkable game, Tiki Toka exhibited their domination over Crystal Fc with a resounding 6-0 victory. This astounding victory has surely set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
However, it wasn’t just the high scores that defined the week. The most valued player of the week was Christian Solway from Chippy Chips. Despite his team's loss, Solway's skill, prowess and sportsmanship truly shone on the field, making him the standout player of the week.
As we look ahead to the rest of the season, there’s no doubt that the Teignmouth Tuesday 6-a-side Football league continues to be a thrilling showcase of local football talent. With the bar set high after week two, teams will need to bring their best game to the pitch in the coming weeks.
