Our Tuesday night 6 a side teams all gathered at Teignmouth Community College last night for round 6 of matches. There were some big wins this week, mixed in with a couple of close games as the season nears the halfway point. League leaders Dawlish met an understrength Future Stars side who were missing a number of key players and the result reflects that. The usually competitive side went down 13 - 1 on the worst possible week to be missing players. No doubt they will bounce back next week but Kieran Martin was in the mood to cash in and his 5 goals, backed up by 4 from Luke Caunter did most of the damage for Dawlish and helped add weight to their already superior goal difference at the top of the table. Paris Ganja Man are right there level on points with the leaders but had to work a bit harder for their two points last night. The 3 - 2 win over Dorsetshire Sauce came thanks to 2 goals from Jonah Wightman and maintained the 4 point gap to the chasing pack of 3 teams on six points. Old Dogs have drawn level with All Cider and What Did You Say Then, who they got the better of this week in conclusive fashion. Jon Jacobs bagged 5 and Aiden Tolley 4 in their 11 - 0 win. All Cider remain on 6 points having suffered a defeat to Priors Preds, 4 - 2 the score with Barnaby Rogers and Callum Prior sharing the goals to move their team out of the bottom two.
Well done to everyone for being there, big thanks to Steve and the team who manage match nights. Next week we reach the halfway point in the season so good luck for your games.
