In the thrilling kickoff to the Dudley Monday 5-a-side Football League, teams from both the Premier League and Division 1 battled it out on the pitch. Showcasing an impressive array of skills, the players left no doubt that this season promises to be an exciting one.
In the Premier League, the Brexit Bad Boys were not able to hold their ground against Blade Runner, with the final score standing at 3-1 in favor of Blade Runner. Harry Jones was the standout player, scoring all three goals for Blade Runner and earning himself the title of top scorer in the division.
Meanwhile, AC Chapel A overcame Goal Diggers 4-2, earning them the name of team of the week for the first week. Well played, lads.
Sewey began the season slightly short on numbers, we look forward to welcoming them back next week with a full squad.
Over in Division 1, Underdawgs FC and Keep Going FC engaged in a high-scoring match which ended in an 8-3 victory for Underdawgs FC. The star of the match was Obinna Emmanuel, who found the back of the net four times, claiming the top scorer spot for Division 1.
Yungens FC had a tough but successful game against AC Chapel B, with a final score of 5-3. Barely Athletic FC also emerged victorious, defeating Masterclass FC 4-1 in a thrilling match.
The crowning glory of the week, however, was Tom Noake from Barely Athletic FC. His exceptional performance throughout the game earned him the title of the most valued player of the week.
With the first week of the season showcasing such high-intensity matches, football fans can look forward to an exhilarating season in the Dudley Monday 5-a-side Football League.
