WEEKLY NEWS FOR 3rd AUGUST
Good afternoon everyone,
Another fantastic season has come to an end on Thursdays at John of Gaunt school in Trowbridge. Thank you all for making the league as popular and competitive as it is! Great to see so many people enjoying the beautiful game.
Premier League
Congratulations to Matt Giles and his Borussia Munchevadgeflaps boys who retain yet another Premier League title, they were pushed all the way this season by FC Fusion who only lost out on goal difference! FC Fusion captain Myles Woodward was deservedly given player of the season for his 5 man of the match performances throughout a brilliant season. Both 6 Offenders and White Horse were relegated in what proved to be a super competitive division! White Horse will be entered into the wooden spoon prize draw! Good luck to all the teams involved.
Division 1
Ben Deadman and his Tinchy Sneijder boys secure promotion and the league title with an outstanding goal difference of +113 which has to be a Leisure Leagues record! Congratulations on the title and I hope you enjoy the Champagne, chocolate, medals and the all important trophy! The Freshford Rejects will also be joining them in the top league next year with Kian Marklew having a brilliant season for his team securing 4 man of the match awards! Well played throughout. Veteran Leisure Leagues captain Lindel Gilling saw his team improve drastically this season but still couldn't avoid bottom spot which see them earn a place in the wooden spoon prize draw!
Other News
New season starts Thursday 9th August! Just in time for the new football season as well!
After the successful trials of the change in restarting the games. Kick offs will now be passed to your own team and centre will be taken after each goal is scored. If any captains have a major issue with this change then please come and talk to me.
Keep your eyes peeled for more polls and competitions coming your way very soon, and remember as Leisure Leagues players and team this is your league and we will always listen to any feedback you have!
