Sunday 21st July - Swadlincote Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Swadlincote Sunday 6 a side league this week, with the only disappointment being Gavatasaray failing to attend for a second week, without informing us.  They've now been removed from the league.

We welcome new team Ultras to the league as a replacement for the above, and wish these good luck going into their first game on Sunday 28th July!

The week kicked off with a thrilling 4-4 draw between WM Village and Oldman Asthmatic. The pulsating match saw some wonderful football from both sides, but it was Brad Starkey of WM Village who stood out from the rest. His stellar performance on the pitch not only helped his team secure the draw, but also led to him being named the Most Valuable Player of the week. Starkey showed his prowess in the game with a combination of deft passes, spectacular goals, and remarkable defense, proving to be an invaluable asset to his team.

In another fixture, Barton Boys ran riot over Isnt It FC with a commanding 10-3 victory. The star of the match was Owen Leech, who found the back of the net four times, becoming the top scorer of the week in the Premier League division. His impressive performance played a key role in securing his team's overwhelming victory, showcasing his prowess as an expert striker.

The final match of the night saw Mother Munchers clinch a narrow 2-1 victory over Lolly McDs Army. The game was a testament to the competitive nature of the Premier League division, demonstrating that every match in this league is unpredictable and exciting.

We wish all teams good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Swadlincote's premier providers of small sided football!
