Yet again a really enjoyable night of 6 a side football at The Vyne School.
After last weeks very unfortunate and dramatic ending, it was really good to get things back to normal again, injury and trouble free, which we very much hope and intend for it to stay that way!
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
Atletico Pathetico very much deserved it this week and turned on the class. A very impressive and emphatic 6-2 win saw them leap frog their opponents and return to the top half of the table where they belong. James Hartwell and his team really looked up for this game tonight right from the start, as I'm sure they knew they needed a win here to stop some real daylight getting between themselves and the top of the league. Of course this is a game they would have backed themselves to win, so it was important that they got back to winning ways after a very strong performance against our league champions last week and matched that by simply out performing their opponents in every way last night.
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARDS!
James Hartwell - Athletico Pathetico - James played like a captain determined to get his team winning again, with 3 goal on the night, his left foot rarely lefts them down when goals are needed!
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This fixture was a battle for the top of the table between the league leaders and Astroworldies, who were currently sitting in 2nd. Astroworldies really put that tie to bed very confidently. The game ended 5-2, which helped Salvy Chelton's team to climb to the top of the league and now remains the only team in Division one unbeaten, with a narrow 1 point lead between all 4 top teams. On the night these guys just looked organised and the game seemed effortless for them to win, even without subs they looked in complete control!
DIVISION ONE MOTM!
Liam cook - Astroworldies - Liam is another player with a magical left foot, which doesn't seem to miss and gives the keeper a real issue no matter where he shoots from. 3 goals from him on the night and there was nobody else that deserved it more!
