We took a week off from the league updates last week even though the league was very much running as per normal, so we apologise for leaving you all in there dark about that but we are now back, so fear not!
Last week was not a fun week, we had torrential rain and of course the United vs Arsenal game was on tv, but we would just like to thank the teams that still turned up for their fixtures regardless, which amazingly was all but one!
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week we had a brand new team joining the league and what a first game they had! They didn't have an easy game for their first fixture, but the referee told us after the game that they are one of the best the league has ever seen, they completely ran riot over their opponents with a full time score of 8-2. The ref even went as far to say that he thinks they'd manage the impossible and knock our raining league champions off their perch if they were still playing, definitely a team worth watching to see where they finish in their first season.
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THR WEEK!
Chicken Tikka Mo Salah will take the imaginary 'team of the week' trophy home this week after their convincing 6-0 victory over PICKnMIX FC. The referee told us that the game was as one sided as the scoreline would suggest, but PICKnMIX FC definitely showing big signs of improvement each and every week. Tom Colombo's team have now leapfrogged Astroworldies into 2nd place after yet more good performances from them to get themselves into a potential promotional position, which they fully deserve! One player that really helped make this weeks performance as convincing and impressive was Will Gardner. Wherever the action was on the pitch, Will was there and was involved, be it a goal or a crucial defensive interception he was there and was extremely important for his team!
DIVISION ONE MOTM!
Blaze Stafford - ABCDE FC - Blaze appears to be their answer to their previous goal scoring problems and is now managing to bang in a couple a game, also helping them turn their form into consecutive wins!
