Leagues champions are announced!

Although it seems like years ago we last started a new season because of COVID-19, we have now finally ended another season at The Vyne School. so let's get into the awards!

PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!

Of course it is none other than 2 Goals 1 Cup. These guys have dominated the top division since they joined us a few seasons ago and last season won every game! To win every game of the season is an incredible accomplishment and one they fully deserve. This week they Will claim their second consecutive league title and I can't see a team challenging them to their 3rd unless a team make some really impressive signings! They have accomplished just about everything as a team, now they just need to try and claim player of the season and golden boot.

PREMIER LEAGUE RUNNERS UP!

Athletico Pathetico win it at the death! These guys always find their way near the top of the table and have very much established themselves as one of the best teams in our league for many seasons now. They have claimed the title once and been runners up many times, so its no surprise that we see them in 2nd place. James Hartwell's team managed a big 7-1 win in their last game to just edge past their main rivals into second place on goal difference. Their main goal is to knock 2 goals 1 cup off their pirch, even with just a win, so let's see what the new season holds!

DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONS!

Much like our top division, 2 girls 1 Klopp dominated our bottom division, only recording 1 loss and 1 draw, which is about as title winning as it gets, so there was little surprise when these guys claimed the title with plenty of games to spare. I look forward to seeing them in the top division next season, I feel they will hold their own and finish as a top half team against much better opponents. It will take them some time to adjust to not being so dominant, but I feel after a few season that they could be title contenders.

DIVISION ONE RUNNERS UP!

We really didn't see Only Put getting promoted, not in a disrespectful, but they just suddenly started winning and climbing the table out of no where. Just like the top division, these guys claimed the runners up position on a very narrow goal different. How will they do next season in the higher division? Its hard to tell with these guys as they've only recently become and good enough teams to gain promotion but they are sounding confident and id like to see them do well. They are going to get some more signings and hope they can really challenge some of those top teams!

PLAYER OF THE SEASON!

Player of the season has not yet been decided. We have 2 players joint at the top of the table with 4 MOTM awards, which will be settled by a cross bar challenge on Monday night! Feel free to come and watch Liam Cook from Astroworldies and Jayden Simpkins from 2 Girls 1 Klopp go head to head!

GOLDEN BOOT!

James Hartwell claims his own personal award as the first player from our Basingstoke 6 a side league to win "The golden boot". Its no secret that James can shoot from just about anywhere and it no secret that once that left foot hits the ball, it very much stays hit. There are very few players that consistently play at his level to challenge him for it, so its no surprise to see his name at the top!
