As we slowly move out of the holiday period and back into normality, we just want to thank all the teams that gave us the heads up on their holidays and helped us to run the league as smoothly as possible whilst we have many missing teams and players due to enjoying the sun elsewhere. It is greatly appreciated!
Let's move onto the bit everyone came to read and find out who made the cut for team of the week and of MOTM awards.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week we felt NOTINYOURMUMSFOREST deserved to be crowned 'team of the week'. They did only manage a draw this week, but when I say "only" it was also who they were against. They are brand new to the league this season and to be able to even get a draw against our consecutive reigning league champions is a massive result for them and I'm sure, a huge moral boost! I am told by the referee that sperm didn't give them the respect that they deserved and probably considered them an easy opponent which definatly contributed to how well Joe Oats and his team were able to play against them. They have been noticed as a team that are emerging as a very promising and individually talented bunch of players, which im sure will go on to be title contenders and one of ' the teams to beat'.
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARDS!
No players this week caught the eyes of the referees enough to deserve a MOTM award or if they did, they didn't have a player card to be eligible to receive one, so don't forget to fill out your player card and get your name mentioned on the league page!
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
THEY HAVE FINALLY WON A GAME! after a very disappointing previous season and an even worse start to the current season, ABCDE FC have finally won their first game and in very remarkable fashion. In what should have been an easy win for Man Chest Hair United, given both teams current form, it turned out to be a very comfortable win for ABCDE FC. Daniel O'`Flynn and his team were no where near their best and missed a few key players for their team, but even if they were in attendance, it was clear to see that Sam Belchers men were really in the mood for this game and wanted the win far more than their opponents. Another case of a team not being given the respect they deserve. ABCDE FC are a team that have seen a huge decline in their form, dropping from the top division and then not picking up a single point from their first 4 games this season. This team were once upon a time consider title contenders and to see them win so convincingly again was great to watch. They are strong in all areas except attacking. They have one of the leagues best keepers, a very good and disciplined defence and a couple of good passes of the ball in the middle, but they never seem to find the back of the net and this is largely down to their lack of shooting. When you watch them play, they seem to spend all their time passing it around the keepers area and never really attempting a shot and when they do, its usually nothing special. Monday night however was a very different scenario, wherever they were, they shot and either tested the keeper or it flew into the top corner, one player in particular that stood out from this was Blaze Stafford. Blaze was the stand in striker for the game and very much did himself justice, bagging himself a couple of very decent goals and some might say that it was a performance worthy of claiming the permanent strikers position. Lets hope they can continue this run of form moving forward and get back to winning ways.
DIVISION ONE MOTM!
Ben Rogers - Who Ate All Depays - Ben is known as a very consistent keeper for his team and had a very strong game for his team, a performance that was key for his team to continue their 100% winning start to the new season.
Isaac Reeves - The Jammie Jodgers - Isaas is the last person to claim his MOTM award. Him and his team have put in very much improved performances over the course of the season and are looking to be a good team in this league long term.
