Monday night football!

Another week of 6 a side football has passed in Basingstoke and as we had hoped and predicted, 2019 has only brought continued success from 2018!

Still as the weeks roll on in the season, we continue to get a 100% turnout from teams. Our staff do an amazing job, week in, week out and continue to run the league as smoothly as possible.

Lets get down to the exciting bit and the bit everyone wants to read about themselves and discuss our team of the week-

Our team of the week this week just had to be awarded to "Sperm tour". Now these guys started the previous season winning every game and looked to be 'the team to beat', since then however, things have gone very much down hill for them and loosing their first 3 games on the bounce, you had to start wondering what had happened to the unbeatables of Leisure leagues Basingstoke, well it seems they have made an appearance again and got back to winning ways, beating "Shitzerland", who are not an easy team to beat and currently sitting mid table. With a score line of 9-3, nobody would've expected the underdogs to just push Shitzerland aside like they did, but it clearly goes to show, when your goalscorer is having a good game, it could turn out to be an emphatic win, especially when you've got a player like Gideon Vallence! Gideon was having a great game and was probably the player of the night, as its not often you manage to bag yourself a double hatrick. Not only did he impress the referee enough to get awarded MOTM, but spectators could also be heard discussing his finishing ability. As a whole though, Sperm tour had a great game as a team, organised defensively and deadly on the counter attack. They would've hoped to concede less goals, but as they don't have a dedicated keeper, it really isn't the worse result they could've got.
