First of all, I personally want to apologise for Monday night at The Vyne. The reason for this is that we have been hit pretty hard by COVID-19 with our referees. Due to different reasons regarding COVID-19, 3 referees were unavailable last, leaving us with just 2 referees last night and having to rely on some last minute call ins, which I'm extremely grateful for. This also had a knock on effect with most kick off times being delayed massively, but rest assured that new referees are now in place going forward to ensure that we are fully staffed next week and moving forward.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week our "team of the week" has to go to Parisganjan. These guys are really keeping the pressure on our current league leaders and reigning champions, so this was a massive game for them against the team below them in 3rd. Anything other than a win would be disastrous for their league title push. They currently sit 2nd and 2 points behind the top spot, so a loss would put them 4 points behind and basically hand the league leaders the title once again. They knew this and really turned on the class on Monday night against a really high quality team. Top performances once again!
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARD!
Sam Belcher - ABCDE FC - Whenever I see Sams name come up for MOTM I am never surprised, this guys has very much established himself as one of the best shot stoppers in the league and teams know that, so no explanation needed here!
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
Astroworldies are our "team of the week" for Monday night. A very impressive 7-2 win helped ensure them keep their 3rd position and only 2 points behind 2nd. These guys have been with us for quite some time now and are a real long serving and loyal team, but this is one of their better campaigns so far. They have always been a top end of the table team but I'm sure they would be more than happy to be sitting 3rd at this time. Very impressive turn of form they are currently having and I really hope they make the most of it!
DIVISION ONE MOTM AWARDS!
Liam Cook - Astroworldies - Liam is now sitting pretty at the top of the "most valuable player of the season" table after another MOTM worthy performance from him!
