We are back with a brand new 6 a side football season at The Vyne school on Monday's 8-10pm.
This was our first evening of fixtures since we restarted with our brand new 16 team league and running at full capacity.
Ok, lets get started with the bragging rights from Monday night.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
There were multiple teams that stood out in their first games of the season to be eligible for 'team of the week' but I'm sure everyone can agree that with a score line of 9-0, it had to be awarded to THANKS FOR POINTS. A direct quote from the referee after the game was " WOW! ABCDE FC just got completely destroyed! ". Granted, ABCDE FC were not at their best by a long way, but even so, they are still a very difficult team to beat, especially by 9 goals, which is one of the biggest scoreline we've ever had. THANKS FOR POINTS have always been title contenders, so to get their season off to such a fantastic start is going to be a massive boost them. These guys are really known as one of the most organised teams, with every single player really putting a shift in every game and with games like this one, the hard work and organisation is really starting to pay off.
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM!
James Hudson - Sperm tour - James had a brilliant game! Every attacking piece of play, he was either the one starting it or the one finishing it off with a goal. This was a game where he really did no wrong.
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
IT'S A MIRACLE! I DO NOT BELIEVE IT! The unthinkable has finally happened. All other score lines did not matter this week, as there could only be one 'team of the week'....Man Chest Hair united have only gone and finally won a game..... For those who don't know, These remarkable bunch of lads managed an entire season last season without picking up a single point and in the process, tallied up a very impressive -56 goal difference. Fast forward to the current season and they currently sit joint top of the table with +2 goal difference and the most impressive part of all is that its all the same players. On a serious note, these guys looked like a whole new team, they appeared organised and played some impressive football for good spells throughout the game. Lets hope they can continue this form, gain some momentum and of course, some team morale. Im not going to big them up too much this early on, but well played lads, well deserved win.
DIVISION ONE MOTM!
Scott Elliot - Man Chest Hair United - Scott was just the player we know he can be. receiving the ball from the keeper and just driving his way forward, dribbling past players with quick turns and acceleration.
Dalton Berry - Who ate all depays - Dalton also had a great game. His running is relentless and ALWAYS puts a proper shift in, something that is extremely valuable for his team.
Char Brackstone - West Ham Sandwich - Char is a player that appeared to find his form towards the end of last season, so it's really good to see that he is picking up where he left off and continuing his fine form.
Plenty of players still missing out on their MOTM awards though. sign up today and be in for a chance to win 'player of the season'
