After a quick look at the Premier League table, it's clear to see how closely competitive it's getting, with only 4 points separating the top 6 positions. This means its possible for any of the top 6 teams in the league to win the title! We are in a part of the season where dropped points are not an option!
Let's get straight into the excitement from our Monday league at The Vyne School, but a quick note to teams before we do get into it. The team that was going to receive 'team of the week' had it revoked after the referee informed us of an incident involving a player from unnamed team, where he screamed abuse at the referee for a bad decision. Let us be very clear, no such behaviour will be tolerated and will result in any player/s being permanently banned from any of our leagues.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
There where multiple teams this week that played well enough to impress us and be awarded 'team of the week', but our decision had to go with 'THANKS FOR POINTS'. It's fair to say that THANKS FOR POINTS have had a quiet start in their first season of the Premier League and currently sit nearer the bottom of the table. Their position in the league however, was not taking into consideration when they faced the current league leaders Sherborne Masters. Sherborne are at the top of the league for a reason, they are a very tough opponent, an important message Michal Borbely and his men didn't receive before facing them. Few teams in the league put in more effort than THANKS FOR POINTS. I wouldn't say they are the most organised team in the league or even one of, but their shear work rate gives them a quality other teams desire. One man who knows this more than any Is their captain, who also put in another stunning MOTM performance. If Michal get the ball, good luck getting it off him. His low centre of gravity and close control make him untouchable. A massive win for them tonight, let's see if they make a late push for the top of the table.
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM!
Ferguson Maumbe - Tea & Busquets - Ferguson is massive part of this teams sudden turn of form and late push for the title. He especially has really found his form lately. The referees always comment on his magic feet.
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week we felt 'West Ham Sandwich' deserved the bragging rights for 'Team of the week'. West Ham Sandwich have been improving each and every week and have slowly been working their way up the table. This week they pulled off a very impressive result, which also ended a very impressive 100% win streak for Stroke Titty. Nick Bundy and his men looked on course to win the league with a 100% win ratio, then up stepped West Ham Sandwich and very much changed that with a very impressive and also entertaining 4-4 draw. Brandon Gillam and his men nearly went all the way and were at one point 4-2 up before the game ended all level. I am sure this will be exactly what they needed in order to churn out some more positive results, as I am seeing improvements each any every week from these guys, mostly in their organisation and also with a few new player signings.
DIVISION ONE MOTM!
jack Mcgregor - Astroworldies - Jack and his team appear to have ended their loosing streak with a win and a draw in their last 2 matches. Jacks last performance was very positive. He was everywhere! If the ball was loose, he'd be chasing it, this guy seemed to have unlimited energy!
