What night of football!

There was plenty of excitement and a couple of massive shock results coming from Monday night in both divisions at The Vyne School, so let's get into it....

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

This week it goes to Three fingers in cider after their performance against one of the best teams in the league! Max fagan and his players really put on a show on Monday night and gave one of our favourites to win the league a massive reality check in a 5-5 draw. These guys were of course underdogs going into this match, which would no doubt work in their favour. When the referee gave me the scores, I had to double check he'd got it right and his quote - "yeah Three fingers were really on it tonight, they really turned up. It was far more even than expected and they gave them a hard time tonight!" Excellent performance lads!

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

It has to be My little Bony after their MASSIVE win, also against one of the favourites to win the league. This team have been really improving over the weeks and have managed to strengthen their squad over lockdown. This was another game that the underdogs won. The scoreline doesn't tell the full story, as their opponents spent a lot of the game on the front foot, but they were very organised and very clinical in front of goal. This will be a huge moral boost for these guys after this very impressive performance and win, which also pushes them up into mid table, which could give them the push they need for a late climb up the table!

DIVISION ONE MOTM AWARDS!

Corey Webb - Man Chest Hair United - Corey had a blinding game in between the sticks for his team, pulling off a superb double save early on, which no doubt kept his team in it. They won 3-1, which most certainly wouldn't have been the case with his performance!
