3 weeks to go until we know who will be promoted, relegated, most valuable player, league runners up and of course... PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
This week we felt ABCDE FC deserved team of the week. These guys have struggled all season and looked a far weaker team in the higher division. They have showed brief periods of what they are capable of, but have massively struggled to keep the consistence performances and from what the captain has told me, a consistent team has been an issue as well. One man that has also struggled for consistency is the team captain - Sam Belcher last season was most probably the main reason for his teams strong performances every week. The guy just didn't let the ball past him and was well known in the league as one of the best. Since then, just like his team, sam has struggled. However! Monday night was just like his former self and with a very impressive double save late on in the match, secured the win for his team. It really was a captains performance from Sam. His team really did step up their performance this week and again, showed what they were capable of with a very strong all round performance and to be able to push aside one of the leagues former top teams with a 6-4 victory, is a very impressive result for these guys, I just hope these guys can continue this until the end of the season and remind us all of what they can do.
PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM!
Mihai Catalin Timofte - Desperados - Mihai was that man that was a constant threat in front of goal, he looked like he could just cause trouble every time he received the ball on the edge of the area and someone you could tell his opponents were very wary of.
DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!
The decision was made to award 2 goals 1 cup with team of the week, this decision came after they managed to knock Man Chest Hair United out of the promotion zone and leap frog them into 4th, only 1 point out of the promotion zone themselves. They have had a bit of a squad reshuffle lately, including a few new signing and they seem to be doing them great justice. Stefan Graham's team have struggled for a large part of the season, but seem to be churning out much more positive results over the last few weeks and have now found themselves in the push for promotion to the premier league. This will be an end to the season that they should be proud of and should be seen as a massive positive for their team next season. There appeared to be much more organisation in the team this week, with most people knowing their positions and rarely getting caught out on the counterattack. The defence looked much more compact than previous weeks.
