Abingdon Monday 5 a side news - match day 2

In a thrilling week of competitive football, Abingdon Monday 5-a-side league saw a rush of goals, sweat and cheers in its second week, across three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3.

DIVISION ONE

In the top tier Division 1, Only Put Matip In beat Sheffield Thursday in a high-scoring match, emerging victorious with a solid 8-4 win. This was followed by a closely contested match where Royal Madrid narrowly beat FC Unts by 4-3. However, the highlight of Division 1 was The Six Offenders' powerful performance, dominating George Street Bastards with a decisive 8-3 victory.

DIVISION TWO

Division 2 saw its share of intense competition as well. Cunning Stunts earned a hard-fought 2-1 win against Gorking Wanderers while Been About It FC set the pitch ablaze with a 13-3 win over Eze Top 3. The division was rounded off with an exciting tie between Only Kruls And Horses and Expected Toulouse FC that ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Rejects FC and Pathetico Madrid also displayed their mettle with 7-6 and 6-3 victories respectively.

DIVISION THREE

In Division 3, the Kick It In The Net-ics began on a high note, overcoming Fiorentina Turner 6-4. Survey Monkeys fell to Hardly Athletic in a one-sided contest, with the latter defeating their opponents 6-0. Casuals and The Jefecitos had a nail-biting duel that ended in a 2-1 win for The Jefecitos. She Was Only XI struggled against His Mind FC, succumbing to a 5-1 defeat.

As the league progresses, we look forward to more great games at Tilsley Park as we move in to match day 3 next week.
