Abingdon Monday 5 a side news - match day 8

In a thrilling week 8 of the Abingdon Monday 5-a-side football league, teams across three divisions clashed in games that were packed full of goals, drama, and high-octane action.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, The Broad Beans served up a masterclass in footballing dominance, defeating Keowns Own with a 13-1 victory. The Six Offenders also put in a memorable performance, scoring an impressive nine goals to four against FC Unts. The highest scoring game was Sheffield Thursday against Lighthouse FC, which ended 8-2 in favour of Sheffield Thursday, showing their prowess on the field. Only Put Matip In and Royal Madrid provided a thrilling contest that ended in a 3-3 draw - a testament to the closely matched teams.

DIVISION TWO

Moving onto Division 2, the highest scoring team was Rejects FC who blew away AgeDoesntMata with an incredible 21-0 victory. Intayanan also put in a strong performance, overcoming Gorking Wanderers 8-4, while the match between Cunning Stunts and Only Kruls And Horses was a close one, ending in a 2-1 win for Only Kruls And Horses. Finally Eze Top 3 edged Expected Toulouse 4-3.

DIVISION THREE

In Division 3, Hardly Athletic edged a high-scoring encounter against Fiorentina Turner, winning 7-6 in a nail-biting finish. Schofields U15s showed their mettle on their return, beating Survey Monkeys 4-1. His Mind FC also enjoyed victory, beating Kick It In The Net-ics 4-1 in a top of the table clash, the win see's His Mind pull 3 points clear of their rivals. Xavi Dodgers moved up to third with a 6-1 win at Bumfica while She Was Only XI and Casuals shared a 1-1 draw.

While we laud the collective efforts of the teams, it's worth noting the top scorers in each division. The Broad Beans in Division 1, Rejects FC in Division 2, and Hardly Athletic in Division 3 truly set the pitch alight with their fantastic goal-scoring displays. As we move into week 9, these high-octane matches have set the bar high and we look forward to more footballing excellence in the coming weeks.
