ABINGDON 5 A SIDE THURSDAY ROUND UP
All 14 teams were in attendance as usual for match night 7 of our Thursday league at Tilsley Park. We had some cracking games including one of the games of the season at the top of the table. Here's a round up:
PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions Nathan Collins were given a real test by FC Hog in the biggest game of the season at the league. The game was locked at 0-0 for the first 20 minutes before Nathan Collins eventually unlocked the door with the game ending in a 2-1 victory for them. A fantastic effort from both sets of players with FC Hog so unlucky to not get anything from the game. The victory see's Collins go three points clear at the top with five games remaining.
Just below FC Hog and now only below them on goal difference are Didcot and Zidane's. Didcot enjoyed a 8-3 win at The Pie Eaters with captain Dan Vaughan scoring five as he picked up the MVP award while Mike Drover also chipped in with a hat-trick. Zidane's had a similar scoreline in their game as they defeated Milf Slayers 9-3, Scott Harris and Mitchell Harris both scoring four goals. George 249 are tucked in just a point behind them after a 8-5 win against Narcos.
In other games William Warriors are up to sixth after winning 4-1 away at Realsosobad while Xavi Dodgers are also on the up as they beat Queens Teens Rovers 7-3. Finally a thriller saw Pool and Rum win an exciting game 7-6 against Last Chance Salloon.
Big thank you to all our teams and of course Dean and our referee's. Have a Happy Easter and good luck next week on match day 8. Thanks Rich
