Match day 4 was played out last night at our Abingdon Thursday 5 a side league. We had a couple of sides away this week who will be returning to the fold next Thursday but it was it was good to see one of the sides on the waiting list come in and get a game under their belts at short notice. We also welcomed new team Biffa Plus Weeman to the league.
The Premier League is turning into a two house race as Nathan Collins and Carlos Puhol continue to win with both on maximum points. With Out On Bale away Nathan Collins played a new guest team and took the 5-0 win. Carlos Puhol sealed a 14-6 win over Eagles while SWXI are starting to find some form with the reigning champions winning 6-3 against FC Hog.
The big match in Div 1 came between the top two teams, Narcos and Eat Sleep Lose Repeat both had 3 wins from 3 going into this one so were level on points at the top. As expected there wasn't much between the sides with both having to settle for a share of the points after a 3-3 draw, this keeps Narcos top on goal difference. Sweaty Stockman took advantage of the situation to beat Realsosobad 12-0 and close the gap to 3 points on the leaders while new team Biffa Plus Weeman played FC Hog with Xavi Dodgers away.
The Pie Eaters lost top spot in Div 2 as they suffered a defeat to high flyers Savills who leapfrogged them into second with a 5-2 win. Gylfi Pleasures are the new leaders as they stay ahead of Savills on goal difference after a 6-2 victory against Man Titty. Finally Zircotekkas won 6-3 against Megs Fit to stay 4th.
Thank you to Dean as usual for running the evening and our refs last night Ben and Alan. See you all next week for match day 5. Cheers Rich 07969 731086.
