Abingdon Thursday 5 a side news | WEEK 3

Football enthusiasts were treated to an electrifying night of action as Week 3 of the Abingdon Thursday 5-a-side Football League concluded, with some thrilling encounters in both Division 1 and Division 2.


DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, FC HOG continued their impressive form, cruising to a resounding 8-1 victory over The Pie Eaters. The result has further solidified FC HOG's status as the team to beat this season. Their precision, tactical understanding, and offensive prowess were on full display, leaving spectators and rivals in awe. Unfortunately, the top scorer's name was not released at the time of writing this article.


DIVISION TWO
Division 2 provided a goal fest for the fans, with four matches played and an impressive total of 34 goals scored across the games. The highlight of the night was the adrenaline-pumping encounter between Sticky Bandits and Brovermars, with the latter edging out a tight 8-6 win.


RealSoSoBad and The Hungry Horses gave fans a riveting display, with the match ultimately being decided by a single goal, The Hungry Horses emerging victorious 4-3. Megapints United also marked an important win, defeating Leys United 5-3.


The top scorer from Division 2, whose name is yet to be disclosed, has definitely set the league alight with his exceptional performances so far.


As we head into Week 4, teams across both divisions will be looking to build on their performances and climb the table. The Abingdon Thursday 5-a-side Football League continues to be a spectacle of local talent, sporting prowess, and the embodiment of the community's love for the beautiful game.
