ABINGDON THURSDAY 5 A SIDE END OF SEASON REVIEW
Thank you to all our teams this season, it's been a fantastic season on a Thursday night at Tilsley Park with 10 committed teams all in attendance again last night, all teams seeing the season through from start to finish which is great to see, it makes a massive difference to us and to the teams in the league. We have four teams on the waiting list with space for two more so if you want to get in for the new season register now before we start next Thursday. We rounded off the season with a title decider and four other excellent games. A big thank you to Dean and Soti for reffing us through this season, much appreciated as always! Here's a round up of last nights results:
PREMIER LEAGUE
Nathan Collins FC took on FC Hog in a title decider in the final game of the season, Hog's were up for the challenge and pushed Collins all the way in a great game. However the four goal winning margin they needed never materialised and they had to settle for a 2-2 draw and the runners up spot behind Nathan Collins FC, congratulations to them on another trophy for the cabinet. Looking forward to next seasons title battle!
In other results Xavi Dodgers ended the season on a high with a 6-3 win over The Pie Eaters to finish third, just three points behind Hogs. Megs Fit finished the season with a narrow 2-1 win against Queens Teens Rovers while in another tight game Realsosobad picked up a 3-2 victory against Zircotekkas. Finally Didcot rounded their season off with a 8-3 win at Narcos.
GOLDEN BOOT AND MVP WINNERS
Congratulations to Nathan Collins captain Harry Stanley who hit 29 goals in 10 games this season to lift the Golden Boot, not a bad strike rate averaging a hat-trick per game lol. The MVP award was shared by Harry and Jack Sear (Megs Fit), congratulations to both.
