Eagles top Div 1 at Christmas - Abingdon Thursday 5 a side

The final round of matches before the Christmas break took place at our Abingdon Thursday 5 a side league last night as all teams took to the pitches ahead of two weeks off for Christmas.

We start our results round up this week in Div 1 for a change where the title race is going down to the wire with just 3 matches left to play. Eagles United are top at Christmas by the narrowest of margins with only goal difference separating them from Jewventus. Last night they gave that goal difference a big boost with a 19-3 win over bottom side Borussia Teeth. Jewventus had a much harder time of it as they battled to a excellent 5-3 win over Milan. Exeter Gently lost ground on the top two as they slumped to a 4-1 reverse to Carlos Puhol while in the other match The Laddington Bears hit 10 against Megs Fit with only the one conceded.

Let's take a look at how the Premier League is shaping up at Christmas, well Nathan Collins are looking odds on for another title as they beat a strong Murder On Zidanes Floor side 5-2 to go 4 points clear at the top of the table. Moving into second spot are Fat Fighters FC who brushed off their narrow defeat to Zidanes last time out to secure a 10-6 win over Narcos. Chicken Tikka Mo Salah move up to third, they had their scoring boots on last night as they beat Xavi Dodgers 11-2. The bottom two met as Mandy's Boys won the basement battle 5-1 against Arselona, both teams heading for Div 1 but will both be looking to bounce back at the first time of asking.
