5 a side Match Report from Abingdon Wednesday

We are just two weeks away from a brand new Wednesday 5 a side season at Abingdon and next week will see our champions crowned in all three divisions.

The Prem saw a close game between Silly Buggers and Socios Utd with the latter just knicking it 6 - 5 in the end. It was a goal fest in the game between Top of the Klopps and Shaktar Last Night with the league leaders on the wrong end of the 13 - 8 result, Klopps move up to joint 2nd, with only goal difference separating them and Wellers who had a points win against Bayern Neverlosen. Also picking up a points win were Ye Mon who stay 4th.

Div One saw a competitive match between Chamakh My Pitch Up and Trinity All Stars with Chamakh coming out on top 8 - 3 at the final whistle. Mighty Ducks and Nice Guys had points wins while Spread the Play and QPHydrangeas both missed the game so picked up a 0 - 0 point each. 

Division Two had a full set of competitive fixtures as Ale Stars norrowly overcame Hot Cross Buns to stay top, winning this one 5 - 3, elsewhere there were good wins for Murder on Zidanes Floor, 7 - 1 against Unremarkables and Club De Cot, 9 - 4 against Slough Posse. In the final game there was a tighly contested match between Pathletico and Exeter Gently. The Exeter side edging it 1 - 0

Thank you to the refs and supervisor Brian on what was a tricky night. Looking forward to completing this season next week when hopefully all teams will be able to get their sides out.
