Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side end of season!

The thrilling conclusion of the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League saw gripping action in the final week of the season. Teams from the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 showcased their skills, determination and love for the game.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, The Mighty Ducks emerged victorious, sealing their place at the top of the table with a substantial total of 18 points and a from nine wins. With a series of impressive performances, they demonstrated their prowess and tenacity throughout the season, setting a high bar for future leagues. Ducks ended their season with a 5-0 win due to Hangover being away, the other result in the Prem saw Basically Barca take the runners up spot after a 10-2 win over Slough Posse.

DIVISION ONE

The Division 1 was no less competitive, with Spraggys Chopper FC clinching the title. They closed the season with 14 points and six wins, demonstrating their superior strategies and teamwork. Their consistent performance throughout the season earned them a well-deserved win. FCUOB also sealed promotion with the final game of the season against Spraggy's ending in a tense 0-0 draw. In other results Ale Stars and Big Justice drew 5-5 while Maragonna beat Spoonies 6-5.

DIVISION TWO

In Division 2, Serious Heat lived up to their name, bringing the heat on the pitch and finishing top with a total of 17 points and eight wins. Their dedication and spirit were unquestionable, and they proved to be a force to be reckoned with. They won their title decider against Tedrooney 7-2 to take home the trophy, Tedrooney hand to settle for promotion and the runners up spot.

In a high-scoring game, the Park The Airbus team outdid themselves by defeating Pickle FC 16-0 in Division 2, marking their win as the top-scoring match of the final week while Jet beat Shy Teds 6-4.

The Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League has been a testament to the passion and determination of all the teams involved. As the final whistle sounded, it was clear that everyone had left their mark on the pitch. Congratulations to all the winners! We look forward to another exhilarating season of football.
