Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side end of season!

In what capped off a pulsating season of football, the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side league concluded yesterday with its 10th and final week of fixtures. Winners were crowned, records were shattered, and we were left in awe of the stunning display of grassroots football.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, Spraggys Chopper FC completed a stellar season with a dominant 11-3 victory over Hangover 96. Their remarkable performance throughout the season cemented their top spot with a total of 16 points and 8 wins, earning them the league title. Elsewhere, The Mighty Ducks showcased their prowess on the field with an astounding 7-2 victory over Basically Barca while Ballotellitubies defeated FCUOB 5-1.

DIVISION ONE

The Division 1 saw a hard-fought battle between Tedrooney Gfc and Slough Posse FC which ended 7-4 in favour of Slough Posse. Despite the loss they still secured the Division 1 title with a total of 15 points and 7 wins. Big Justice FC also left a mark with a 5-2 victory over Maragonna while Shaggers Utd won 6-2 against B480 to beat the drop.

DIVISION TWO

Finally, in the Division 2, Shy Teds FC stood out as the champions. Despite only having a friendly this week with Ale Stars away, their season-long performance had already secured them the top spot with 18 points and 9 wins. Park The Airbus underlined their potential and promotion with an 8-1 triumph over JET FC while Spoonies defeated Pickle FC 9-1.

As the curtain falls on this season of the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side league, the teams can look back on their triumphs and tribulations, and begin preparations for the next season. Football, as they say, is a beautiful game, and this season of Abingdon Wednesday was nothing short of beautiful.
