All 23 teams were in attendance last night for match day 12 of the Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side season. FC Hog have now vacated the league and joined the waiting list for our Thursday night league so we have one place available for a new team to join.
Hagdons are closing in on the Premier League title as they won a crunch match in the Premier League defeating a strong Hassan Ud Town side 6-2. This keeps them 2 points clear of Ye Mon who picked up a points match win with Hogs not attending. Kogs's Angels who joined the season late on will be a force next week as they rose to 4th in the table with a convincing 12-3 win over The More. Nice Guys Finish Last jumped out of the relegation zone as they got the better of Jezzys 7-2 however it's only goal difference that separates the two sides.
Shaktar Last Night are the new leaders in Div 1 as they produced their performance of the season to depose Bayern Neverlosen from top spot, beating them 4-2 to go a point clear. Both sides are all but promoted however the title race is still very much on going into the last two games of the season. The Mighty Ducks had a convincing 13-3 win over new team FC United to rise to third while Spread The Play moved 3 points clear of the drop zone after a 7-2 victory against Slough Posse. Fernando Tories and Ale Stars gave us a nine goal thriller which Tories won 5-4, the defeat leaves Ale Stars possibly facing up to life in Div 2 next season.
Chamakh My Pitch Up impressed as they continue to fly high at the top of Div 2 after a 6-0 success against Kipsta FC. FC Spangled hold onto second spot despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Club De Cot. Crouchy Utd stay level on points with Spangled as they boosted their goal difference with a 12-1 win over Unremarkables. Finally Brad's Formula won their match with Pathetico Madrid 6-2.
Thank you to all our teams and our refs Warren, Dean, Ian and Martin. See you all next week match day 13.
